Border guards go to people's homes to prevent fishing boats from moving them to the receiving area

An Giang - Border guards went down to the homes of households with "no 3 fishing boats" anchored in the An Thoi fishing port area to propagate and mobilize.

On November 23, the Working Group of the An Thoi Port Border Guard Station (Phu Quoc) under the An Giang Provincial Border Guard Command sent officers to go to the homes of households with "no 3-room fishing boats" that were not anchored in the An Thoi fishing port area (3 no, no registration, no fishing license, no inspection).

The working group had a friendly talk with fishermen, explained in detail the regulations and mobilized to towing to the reception area in Rach Dam with 11 households with "no 3 fishing boats" and "unqualified fishing boats".

Lieutenant Colonel Luu Quang Muoi - Political Commissar of the An Thoi Port Border Guard Station said that in addition to mobilizing people, the Working Group also propagated regulations against illegal, unreported, and unregulated (IUU) fishing; instructed people to scan the QR code to access the "IUU Electronic Handbook" application. Thereby, people who have questions or need support in any operations are wholeheartedly supported.

Going to each household's house to propagate not only shortens the gap between officials and people but also shows goodwill and determination to support people to comply with legal regulations, joining hands to contribute to removing the EC's yellow card.
