Currently, Binh Dinh province is focusing on implementing the plan to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses for poor, near-poor households, newly escaped poverty households and policy beneficiaries in the area. This is a key task to ensure social security and improve living conditions for people.
As of March 21, the whole province has built and repaired 4,068 houses, reaching 93.2% of the plan. Of which, 1,532 houses (438 newly built houses and 1,094 repaired houses) have been completed and put into use.

According to the plan, by May 31, 2025, Binh Dinh will complete 4,418 houses, with a total estimated cost of about 215 billion VND. Households eligible for support will receive 60 million VND/household to build new houses and 30 million VND/household to repair houses.
Through the review, the whole province currently has 4,363 households with meritorious services to the revolution, relatives of martyrs and households in special difficulties that need housing support. The province has clearly divided the time frame, assigning specific completion time to each locality.
Of which, An Nhon town and Quy Nhon city, Phu My district and Tay Son district will achieve 100% of the plan; Phu Cat district will complete in April; the remaining districts including Tuy Phuoc, Hoai An, Van Canh, Vinh Thanh, An Lao and Hoai Nhon town will complete in May.

At the 22nd session of the Provincial People's Council for the 2021-2026 term held on March 21, Binh Dinh Provincial Party Secretary Ho Quoc Dung requested departments, branches and organizations to continue to coordinate with local authorities to implement the policy of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses and improving housing for policy families.
"All localities that have not started construction to remove temporary and dilapidated houses must start construction immediately, ensuring completion in May 2025. Currently, there are some fluctuating and thinking ideas that when the reorganization is coming, it is not known whether there will be any more work or not. I suggest that we still work with one day left, completing the assigned tasks, and solving social security for the people.
I assign the secretaries of districts, towns and cities to review the construction of temporary houses for people. Next week, the Steering Committee will meet to remove temporary and dilapidated houses. If the work has not been completed, the comrades will be responsible," Mr. Ho Quoc Dung directed.
"Whoever has something contributes"
During a working trip to Binh Dinh province on the afternoon of March 22, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh inspected the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in Binh Dinh.
Through the inspection, the Prime Minister acknowledged and praised the efforts and results of Binh Dinh. The Prime Minister emphasized that to complete the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses nationwide in 2025, in addition to the support of the State, it is necessary to promote the efforts of each household and the support and assistance of relatives, brothers, neighbors... with the spirit of whoever has something to contribute, whoever has meritorious services contributes, whoever has property contributes, whoever has a lot contributes a lot, who has little contributes a little, creating a movement and trend for the poor, for the movement to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses.
