On May 22, Binh Dinh province launched a peak period of fighting to prevent and repel smuggling, trade fraud, counterfeit goods, and infringement of intellectual property rights.

Chairman of Binh Dinh Provincial People's Committee Pham Anh Tuan requested heads of departments, branches, agencies members of the Provincial Steering Committee 389 and Chairmen of district-level People's Committees to seriously implement the Prime Minister's direction on launching a peak period to fight against, prevent and repel smuggling, trade fraud, production and trading of counterfeit goods, and infringement of intellectual property rights.

He assigned the Department of Industry and Trade to preside over and coordinate with relevant agencies and units to develop a plan and organize the implementation of the peak period. At the same time, direct the Market Management force to strengthen inspection and strictly handle acts of trading in smuggled goods, production and trading of counterfeit goods, goods violating intellectual property rights, goods of unknown origin, especially paying attention to violations in the e-commerce environment.

Binh Dinh Provincial Police coordinate with functional forces to identify and monitor organizations and individuals with signs of smuggling, trade fraud, production and trading of counterfeit goods and goods of unknown origin. Thereby, thoroughly handling cases and criminally handling organizations and individuals who violate serious violations, in order to promptly deter and warn.

"The process of fighting must clarify the role and responsibility of organizations and individuals in state management of licensing, inspection, examination, control of import-export activities, circulation of goods and raw materials for production. Resolutely handle negative acts, assist, cover up, and condone illegal activities, with the spirit of " handling one case, warning the whole region, the whole field", "no forbidden areas, no exceptions", Mr. Pham Anh Tuan emphasized.

Chairman of Binh Dinh People's Committee also requested the heads of departments, branches and member agencies of the Steering Committee of 389 provinces to actively review and propose solutions to overcome shortcomings and exist in the prevention and fight against smuggling, trade frauds and fake goods.
