Investment wave hits the province
In the first 5 months of the year, the economic situation of Binh Dinh province continued to maintain a positive growth momentum. The industrial production index increased by 8.31% over the same period. Industrial parks and clusters continue to attract investment, promote the construction of factories and technical infrastructure, contribute to job creation, increase income and ensure social security.
In May, with the US temporarily suspending the application of new tariff policies, export-exporting manufacturing and trading enterprises boosted production and completed signed orders. Thanks to that, export turnover in May still ensured growth, with an implementation value of 167 million USD, up 8.9% over the same period.
In May alone, the whole province attracted 11 new projects with a total registered capital of more than 2,524 billion VND. Accumulated from the beginning of the year to date, the province has attracted 50 investment projects with a total registered investment capital of more than VND 16,224 billion (reaching 50% of the target assigned by the province in 2025).
Total state budget revenue in the first 5 months of the year was more than VND 7,502 billion, reaching 43.1% of the annual estimate. Land use fee collection alone is VND3,536.7 billion, reaching 49.1% of the annual estimate...
At the conference, Permanent Vice Chairman of Binh Dinh Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Tuan Thanh pointed out a number of shortcomings, especially problems in site clearance (GPMB) affecting the project implementation progress. He suggested that localities rectify and speed up compensation and site clearance work to ensure construction conditions for projects that have been and are being implemented.
" Localities effectively implement forest fire prevention and fighting during the hot season and actively implement measures to combat illegal fishing (IUU)...", Mr. Thanh noted.
Starting construction of key projects to celebrate major holidays
Concluding the conference, Chairman of Binh Dinh Provincial People's Committee Pham Anh Tuan pointed out a number of major challenges in the province's current socio-economic development, including the impact of the new US tariff policy, the process of reorganizing the 2-level local government apparatus and "bottlenecks" in administrative procedures.

According to Mr. Tuan, promoting decentralization and delegation of authority with about 3,000 jobs transferred from the Central to the local level requires higher responsibility from the two-level government (provincial and commune). This poses an urgent need to raise awareness, sense of responsibility and determination in performing tasks of each cadre, civil servant and public employee at agencies, units and localities.
"With 1 working day left, cadres still have to strive to complete their tasks, not to let work get stuck during the reorganization period," said Mr. Tuan, adding that the province will assign KPI (work efficiency assessment index) to perform tasks for the new 58 communes, wards and individuals who are Secretaries and Chairmen of these administrative units.
The province has completed the plan to reorganize the 2-level local government organization model and is continuing to reorganize it internally. Therefore, localities must proactively review and arrange personnel for the right people and jobs, with mutual support; arrange public service units, provide social services so as not to interrupt activities.
"Departments, branches and localities resolutely urge progress, ensuring the groundbreaking of key projects such as: Runway No. 2 Construction Project and synchronous works at Phu Cat Airport, Phu My Industrial Park project, ... before August 19 to celebrate the 80th anniversary of National Day", Mr. Tuan suggested.
The Chairman of Binh Dinh Provincial People's Committee emphasized that June is a key time, the workload is very large, requiring determination and high responsibility. The entire political system must focus highly on streamlining the organization and reforming administrative procedures, creating a solid foundation for GRDP in 2025 to achieve the growth target of 8.5-9%.
