Binh Dinh - The new vehicle load inspection station on National Highway 19 will be put into trial from now until the end of 2024, and violations will be handled from January 1, 2025.

On December 17, Chairman of Binh Dinh Provincial People's Committee Pham Anh Tuan agreed to the proposal of the Department of Transport on the exploitation and operation of the automatic fixed vehicle weight inspection station at Km5+994.5 of the new National Highway 19.

This checkpoint will begin a trial operation in December 2024. From now until the end of 2024, the checkpoint will operate on a trial basis, collecting data from the automated inspection system but will not impose fines.

This data is used to serve propaganda and reminders for organizations and individuals who violate vehicle load regulations.

From January 1, 2025, the station will officially use data from the Automatic Vehicle Inspection System to handle violations of vehicle weight.

As reported, the Department of Transport of Binh Dinh has implemented a project to pilot the construction of 2 automatic vehicle inspection stations in the province. Of which, 1 station is built on the new National Highway 19, the section through Quy Nhon City and 1 station is located on National Highway 19C, the section through Van Canh District. These are the first 2 automatic inspection stations in Binh Dinh.

2 automatic inspection stations will be equipped with automatic vehicle weighing equipment for each route section, a camera system that will record license plates, lane surveillance cameras, panoramic surveillance cameras and a signage system serving the weighing station.

In addition, there is also a software server system to manage cameras, control scales, support fines for violations, detect and warn of vehicles carrying goods exceeding the height...

The operation process of the load weighing system will use a sensor bar to collect the load information of passing vehicles, without having to stop the vehicle like the static weighing system. In addition, the information processing software and video will record images of license plates and vehicles...

According to the approved budget, these two automatic vehicle inspection stations are worth more than 23 billion VND.
