On July 15, Tay Ninh Provincial Police announced the decision to reward the Minister of Public Security for collectives with outstanding achievements in the fight against crime at the Drug Crime Investigation Police Department. Colonel Nguyen Quoc Toan - Deputy Director of Tay Ninh Provincial Police - chaired the ceremony.
Authorized by the Minister of Public Security, Colonel Nguyen Quoc Toan has awarded the following units: 20 million VND to the Drug Crime Investigation Police Department of Tay Ninh Provincial Police; 15 million VND to each unit including Department 5 - Department of Drug Crime Investigation Police, Department of Drug Crime Investigation Police of Dong Thap Provincial Police, Department of Staff and Department of Police behind the Tay Ninh Provincial Police; 10 million VND to the Drug Assessment Team under the Criminal Science Institute (Ministry of Public Security) in Ho Chi Minh City; 5 million VND to Department 5 - Department of Technical and Professional Affairs (Ministry of Public Security).
Previously, on June 30, 2025, in My Tho City (Tien Giang Province, before the merger), the Drug Crime Investigation Police Department of Long An Provincial Police (before the merger) coordinated with the professional departments of the Ministry of Public Security and Tien Giang Provincial Police to arrest 6 subjects in a large-scale inter-provincial drug production and illegal trading ring.
The seized exhibits included 20 kg of American grass, 300 kg of drug-processing materials, 360 liters of drug-processing chemicals and many related exhibits.
The subjects confessed that they have been operating since January 2025, illegally profiting hundreds of millions of VND per day.
Currently, the authorities continue to consolidate, collect documents, and investigate and clarify related subjects for handling according to the law.
