At the scene, new subsidence points have appeared, and the construction unit is currently arranging excavators and vehicles to level the damaged locations.
Also according to records, the eroded embankment section is hundreds of meters long. Most of the sinkholes are temporarily filled with soil, making the construction area untidy. Notably, there are currently no fundamental remedial measures, while the subsidence phenomenon continues to occur.
Especially, at this time, Hai Tien beach area is receiving a lot of tourists and people coming to swim. The continued subsidence of the embankment not only affects the landscape but also poses a potential risk of unsafety for people and tourists.
Talking to a reporter of Lao Dong Newspaper, a representative of the leadership of Hoang Tien Commune People's Committee said that the construction unit is still leveling the land at the subsided locations. The specific remedial and handling plan is still waiting for the Provincial People's Committee to consider and decide.
It is known that, according to the assessment of the Thanh Hoa Provincial Department of Agriculture and Environment, the cause of the subsidence is due to sand at the foot of the breakwater wall being eroded by sea waves, losing the foundation, leading to landslides of the sidewalk behind the breakwater wall.
Regarding handling responsibility, the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Thanh Hoa province identified the Hoang Hoa District Construction Investment Project Management Board as the investor from the time of approval of the policy to August 2025. Currently, this unit has merged into the Thanh Hoa Agricultural and Rural Development Construction Investment Project Management Board. Up to now, the People's Committee of Hoang Tien commune is receiving the task of investor.
