Information from Son Kim 1 Commune People's Committee said that the deadline assigned by Ha Tinh Provincial People's Committee has passed, but the investor, the Central Road Project Management Board, has not yet completed the payment of compensation of 2.24 billion VND to 108 households in Son Kim 1 commune.
Representatives of Son Kim 1 Commune People's Committee wished the investor to soon allocate resources to complete payments to the people, avoiding prolongation causing public outrage and affecting local security and order.
Talking to a reporter from Lao Dong Newspaper, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Phuc - Deputy Director of the Central Road Project Management Board said that the remaining 2.24 billion VND to complete compensation payments to people in Son Kim 1 commune has funds.
However, the procedures for withdrawing money are being actively implemented by the unit because they must go through many stages, many steps, so they have not been completed.
We have reported to Ha Tinh province about not being able to pay people according to the deadline assigned by the province. We are trying to be able to pay on April 30th," Mr. Phuc said.
Previously, at the end of March 2024, Ha Tinh Provincial People's Committee issued a document requesting the completion of compensation payment due to the construction of renovation and upgrading of National Highway 8A causing cracks in people's houses in Son Kim 1 commune.
Ha Tinh province requests the investor, the Central Road Project Management Board, to proactively allocate sufficient funding according to the data that has been inspected, reviewed, and unified; organize timely and appropriate compensation payments to ensure publicity and transparency, and complete them before April 15, 2026.
As Lao Dong Newspaper has reported, in 2023, the Project to renovate and upgrade National Highway 8A through Son Kim 1 commune was implemented. During construction, many households discovered that their houses were cracked, so they requested the contractor to stop construction and proceed with compensation for damages.
The investor then reviewed and determined that 203 households in Son Kim 1 commune had their houses and works affected and calculated the amount to be compensated of nearly 3.2 billion VND.
Payment has been implemented, however, some households are not satisfied with the compensation level, so they do not receive money.
The investor then continued to review and agreed to add 2.24 billion VND for payment. This amount was identified as the final payment to the people and has been agreed upon by the people, committing that after receiving the money, they will not complain anymore.
