On the morning of April 18, at the National Library of Vietnam, the opening ceremony of the 2026 Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day program with the theme "Knowledge Chain - From Book Pages to Digital Space" took place.
The event is organized under the direction of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, by the National Library of Vietnam in coordination with the Department of Grassroots Culture, Family and Library.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Dung - Director of the National Library of Vietnam said: "Books and reading culture play a foundational role in knowledge, and at the same time become a driving force to activate creativity and adaptability of each person. Reading is not only about absorbing information but also a process of selecting, analyzing and re-creating knowledge, thereby forming a new way of reading with an open perspective and independent thinking ability...
Promoting the theme spirit, Book Culture Reading Day 2026 is organized with many diverse and highly interactive activities, promising to bring delegates and the public rich and impressive experiences. This is also a strong affirmation from the connection and innovation in organizing activities and deploying reading culture development to serve the community".

Within the framework of the program, the Exhibition "From Book Pages to Digital Space" introduced publications, typical sources of materials, and at the same time depicted the development journey of books and knowledge, towards the goal of honoring the value of books, knowledge and reading culture, contributing to raising awareness of the role of knowledge in development; arousing passion for reading, nurturing the spirit of learning and encouraging each individual to actively access, accumulate and share knowledge.
In addition, the exhibition also creates a space for connection and experience, where the community has the opportunity to access knowledge in many diverse forms, thereby affirming the role of knowledge and creativity as important driving forces for development in the digital age.
The series of author and work exchanges gathers many reputable publishers, bringing opportunities for readers to access more deeply the content of books and creative inspiration. In addition, educational playgrounds such as telling stories in English, drawing pictures about science and technology, designing "community bookstores"... help students develop thinking, skills and nurture a love of reading.

In particular, the activity "Talking Stories with AI" opens up a new approach, combining technology with reading culture, along with meaningful programs such as "Book Exchange Station", "Each Book - A New Journey" to spread knowledge to the community, especially in difficult areas.
Also within the framework of the Opening Ceremony, the National Library of Vietnam mobilized sponsorship to donate 6000 books (worth 500 million VND) to library units of universities, high schools...
