As Lao Dong Newspaper has reported, in recent days, the construction area on Vo Van Kiet street, the section under Thang Long bridge (belonging to Vinh Thanh and Thien Loc communes, Hanoi), has experienced large dust, especially when the weather is dry and hot.
Dust from the road surface and the construction site area was blown up by vehicles, affecting the visibility and traffic of people.
The dust is terrible, walking through it is blurred if you don't wear glasses. We propose that the construction unit have measures to handle it so that people walking through are less miserable," shared Mr. Huy Duc (Thien Loc, Hanoi).
Not only dust, congestion also often occurs in the direction from Thang Long bridge to Vo Van Kiet. Vehicles have to move slowly through the construction area, causing traffic to be congested at times.
Regarding the above reflection, in an exchange with a reporter from Lao Dong Newspaper, the leader of the Traffic Infrastructure Maintenance Board - Hanoi Department of Construction (abbreviated as the Maintenance Board - PV) said that this area is being deployed to build a vehicle weight control weighing station.
The project aims to control oversized and overloaded vehicles entering the city, thereby contributing to protecting traffic infrastructure and bridges in Hanoi.
Regarding overcoming the dust situation, the leader of the Maintenance Board said that the unit has requested the contractor to increase watering and cleaning of the construction area to limit dust spread, affecting people and vehicles.
The construction unit still regularly sprays water at the construction site area. However, in recent days, the weather after rain has turned sunny, causing the road surface to dry quickly, while the volume of vehicles passing through is large, so dust is easily blown up.
The unit is increasing the frequency of water spraying, combining road surface and construction area cleaning to limit dust spread," said the leader of the Maintenance Board.
According to the leader of the Maintenance Board, after completing each foundation section, the contractor will proceed to pave the road surface to limit dust and ensure traffic conditions. Some sections in the project area have now been paved. At the same time, the unit is requesting the contractor to accelerate progress, striving to complete all items under the project in the Thang Long bridge foot area around September 10, 2026.
Leaders of the Traffic Infrastructure Maintenance Board - Hanoi Department of Construction affirmed that they will continue to inspect and urge contractors to implement measures to ensure environmental sanitation, traffic safety and limit impacts on people during construction.
The construction of the Project to invest in construction and installation of a system of vehicle weight control equipment on roads in the city is currently being implemented at locations, including:
North of the beginning of Thang Long bridge (old Dong Anh district); area Km41+000 National Highway 32; area Km4+100 National Highway 21; 2 locations on Nguyen Khoai dike in the Nguyen Khoai - Linh Nam intersection area and 1 location on Do Muoi road section from the exit to Ring Road 3 to Linh Nam intersection.
