On January 26, Lao Cai Electricity informed that Lech Mong village was the last locality in Lao Cai province to have access to the national grid, before the Lunar New Year of At Ty. This event not only marked a turning point in the lives of Lech Mong villagers, but also an important milestone for Lao Cai province, when all villages and hamlets in the province have been supplied with electricity from the national grid.
The project to supply electricity to Lech Mong village is invested by the Department of Industry and Trade of Lao Cai province, including 1.3km of 35kV medium voltage line; 1.8km of 0.4kV low voltage line and 1 transformer station (TBA) with a capacity of 250kVA - 35/0.4kV; 56 5(80)A single-phase electronic meters. The total investment of the project is nearly 3 billion VND.
Mr. Chao Lao Cau, Chairman of Thanh Binh Commune People's Committee, said: "This is an event that local people have been waiting for for many years. With electricity, people will improve their lives and promote local economic development. Along with that, living conditions will be improved, children will have light to study and production and business will be more convenient. This is truly the most meaningful gift before the Lunar New Year for local people."
According to the Chairman of Thanh Binh Commune People's Committee, the electric light coming to Lech Mong village not only lights up the roofs but also brings faith and hope for a brighter future for the highlands here.
