According to records, currently in Co Dam stream (from the foot of Co Dam bridge to the downstream spillway, in the area of Ba Dinh and Lam Son wards of Bim Son town, Thanh Hoa province), there is a situation of fish dying white, gathering in large groups.

According to many residents in Quarter 6, Ba Dinh Ward, Bim Son Town, the situation of shrimp and fish naturally dying has been happening for about a week now. In the early days, only a few small fish shrimp species were present, however, recently, many large fish species such as catfish, carp, mackerel, etc. have also died for unknown reasons.
I have never seen such an unusual phenomenon in the past few decades. When I saw many dead shrimp and fish, I and the people in the village went to the stream to collect them and bring them back to feed the cattle or make fertilizers for crops. Today, I pick them up, tomorrow I will find them all dead fish, piled up" - Ms. Lai Thi Luat (residing on Street 6, Ba Dinh Ward, Bim Son Town) said.

According to the representative of the leader of Ba Dinh ward, Bim Son town, after discovering the incident, the People's Committee of the ward coordinated with the Department of Natural Resources and Environment of the town, the Department of Environmental Protection, the Department of Natural Resources and Environment of the province to collect water samples and samples of dead fish and shrimp to conduct testing to find the cause.
The People's Committee of Ba Dinh Ward also recommended that the People's Committee of Bim Son Town direct the Environmental Company to collect the amount of dead fish and shrimp and destroy them. Along with that, people are advised not to use dead fish.
The cause of the incident is currently being verified and clarified by the authorities.
