According to people living near Bong Son Lake (also known as the central park regulation lake), the dead fish in this lake appeared from August 12 and increased a lot on August 13. Of which, the main fish are tilapia.
Bong Son Lake is located in the central park of the old Ha Tinh city, where many people walk, exercise every day... The foul smell of dead fish makes people worry about affecting the environment and health.
The incident has been reported to the local authorities, as well as Ha Tinh Urban Environment and Construction Joint Stock Company.
Mr. Nguyen Duy Bang - Director of Ha Tinh Urban Environment and Construction Joint Stock Company - said that the company is mobilizing employees to collect fish carcasses to bury and destroy them to reduce odor and pollution.
According to Mr. Bang, the phenomenon of fish dying in Bong Son Lake every year occurs during hot weather, due to heat shock, algae form, causing fish to lack oxygen.
