On the afternoon of August 5, according to information from the Department of Agriculture and Environment (DONRE) of Hue City, the unit has coordinated with relevant agencies to collect water samples and check the scene to investigate the cause of unusual fish deaths in the canal section near Phong Dien Industrial Park, Phong Dinh Ward.
Previously, local people discovered a series of dead fish floating densely on the water surface in the area outside Kanglongda Hue Factory. The strong stench from the canal causes serious environmental pollution, affecting surrounding activities.
Many people have proactively collected fish carcasses to limit the spread of pollution and at the same time reported the incident to the authorities.
Immediately after receiving the information, the People's Committee of Phong Dinh Ward, the Management Board of Hue City Economic and Industrial Zones and the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development were present at the scene to record the situation.
According to initial assessment from the professional agency, the prolonged heat in the past few days may be a factor causing the phenomenon of mass fish deaths. However, the exact cause is still waiting for the conclusion from the results of the water sample analysis.
