On August 18, in an exchange with a reporter from Lao Dong Newspaper, Mr. Ngo Van Hien - Head of Noi Xa village (Hoa Xa commune, Hanoi) confirmed that an incident occurred in the village where a python raised by people escaped from the cage.
According to Mr. Hien, this python was raised by a household in an iron cage for a long time, but people did not declare or register to raise wild animals with the local authorities.
The incident happened on August 15, but it was not until the evening of August 17 that the family came to report to the village head" - Mr. Hien said.
According to information provided by the family, the python weighed about 60kg. The cause of the python escaping out of the iron cage has not yet been clearly determined.
Immediately after receiving the information, Noi Xa village informed the Hoa Xa commune government, the commune police force and local security forces to coordinate in handling the incident.
At the same time, the village has posted warning information on local groups and social networking sites to warn people.
Currently, functional forces and local people are still continuing to monitor and search for the above python.
Local authorities recommend that when people detect traces or locations of individual pythons, they should immediately report to functional forces to organize a safe siege and capture.
