According to information from the Nam Dinh Province Hydrometeorological Station on emergency flood news on rivers in Nam Dinh Province, as of 2:30 p.m. today (September 11), the water level of Dao River at Nam Dinh Hydrometeorological Station was 5.16 m (0.86 m above alarm level III); Ninh Co River at Truc Phuong Station was 3.7 m (1.1 m above alarm level III), the water level at Truc Phuong Station peaked at 1:30 p.m. at 3.71 m (1.11 m above alarm level III).
At 2:00 p.m., the Day River at Ninh Binh station was 3.94m (0.44m above alarm level III), at Phu Ly it was 5.03m (1.03m above alarm level III); the Red River at Tien Duc station was 6.73m (0.43m below alarm level III).
Water levels on rivers are forecast to continue to rise and may peak this afternoon to evening (September 11), flood amplitude 2 - 3.2m, flood depth on riverbank alluvial plains 0.7 - 1.7m.
Faced with the above situation, districts and cities in Nam Dinh province have proactively evacuated people to avoid flooding.
On the afternoon of September 11, speaking with Lao Dong Newspaper reporter, Mr. Nguyen Tien Dung - Chairman of Nam Dinh City People's Committee said that up to now, the city has evacuated more than 8,000 people in the area outside the dike in My Tan commune, Cua Nam ward, Nam Phong ward... to safe shelter areas.
In Truc Ninh district, by this evening (September 11), all 459 households with 1,455 people had been propagandized, mobilized and forcibly relocated to the school area in the area.
In Nam Truc district, about 600 households with more than 1,300 people were relocated.
Previously, many communes in Y Yen district also evacuated more than 2,000 people due to incidents at some points on the dike system in the district.
