On September 25, the Department of Transport of Lam Dong province issued a notice to organize traffic to handle and fix the problem of roadside erosion and the floating arch culvert across the road at Km29+850, on Provincial Road 721, through Loc Hoa village, Da Lay commune, Da Teh district.
This is a vital route connecting Lam Dong and Binh Phuoc provinces. Currently, the Department of Transport of Lam Dong province is organizing to fix the landslide incident that occurred on this road section as soon as possible to open the route.
To ensure the safety of people and vehicles, the Department of Transport has banned vehicles from passing through the erosion area (for now, only motorbikes are allowed to circulate).
Previously, according to a report from the Department of Transport of Lam Dong province, due to the impact of storm No. 4, in recent days, Da Teh and Cat Tien districts (Lam Dong) have continuously experienced heavy rain.
In particular, on September 24, the rainfall in the two districts reached 137.8mm. As a result, water from the upstream stream at Km29+850, DT.721 rose high and flowed rapidly, causing erosion, collapsing the arched culvert across the road and cutting off half of the road surface in the early morning of September 25.
Immediately after the incident, the Department of Transport of Lam Dong province and the People's Committee of Da Teh district directed departments and offices to coordinate with relevant units to be present at the scene.
In addition, the units also placed landslide warning signs at both ends, put up road barriers and banned vehicles from passing through the area.
Provincial Road 721 is a vital route with a total length of more than 50 km, connecting the three districts of Da Huoai, Da Teh and Cat Tien (Lam Dong) to Bu Dang district (Binh Phuoc).
