The automatic train washing system of Metro Line 1 is located at Long Binh depot in Thu Duc City (HCMC). This is an important part of the train maintenance and operation process. This system is capable of cleaning the entire train car automatically and quickly.
Urban Railway Company No. 1 (HURC) said that the automatic train washing system works with a frequency of washing 2-3 trains per day (each train will be washed about once a week).
“It takes about 15 minutes to clean each train and only uses about 1m3 of water. After cleaning, the train is brought back to the parking lot, ready for the next operation,” said a HURC representative.
Regarding the ship washing station installed at Long Binh depot (Thu Duc city), it consists of two main areas: the washing chamber and the engine room, with the function of cleaning both sides of the ship, gutters, head and stern.
The washing chamber consists of a brush, a spray dome, a washing module for the wheelhouse, the bow and the stern. These modules are responsible for cleaning the important parts of the ship effectively and hygienically.
The engine room includes processing and control equipment such as pumps, dosing equipment, water collection tanks, clean water tanks, pipes and tools containing detergents and desiccants to help maintain the operating process of the ship washing system in a stable and effective manner.
“Maintaining trains in a clean, stable and safe state is an important factor, ensuring the best experience for people when using Metro system No. 1,” said a HURC representative.
