On September 7, Can Tho City organized a launching ceremony to build and repair 125 houses for cases of children of resistance war activists infected with chemical toxins who are in difficult housing circumstances.
Out of a total of 125 houses deployed, 65 are newly built and 60 are repaired. Each newly built house is supported with 100 million VND, and a repaired house is supported with 50 million VND.
According to the plan, from September 7 to 17, 1,500 officers, soldiers and local forces will participate in building and repairing 125 houses in 47 communes and wards. Among them, 300 officers and soldiers of Military Region 9 will be reinforced; the remaining 1,200 people are militia, police and forces of socio-political organizations in communes and wards.
The activity aims to continue to deeply express the morality of "When drinking water, remember the source", "Gratitude" of the Party, State and People towards those who have contributed to the revolution; especially those who have contributed and sacrificed in the resistance war and were infected with chemical toxins, along with the second generation who are their own children who are suffering from severe sequelae and facing many difficulties in life.
The implementation of housing construction and repair also contributes to strictly implementing the Party and State's policy on caring for the lives and housing of people with meritorious services to the revolution, with the spirit of "Letting no one be left behind", promoting the tradition of "Mutual affection" of the nation.
This is also an activity to mobilize the combined strength of the entire political system, armed forces, socio-political organizations, organizations, individuals and people to join hands in caring for policy families, contributing to helping families have stable and safe accommodation and gradually improve the quality of life.
