On September 5, the City People's Committee announced a plan to support the removal of temporary and dilapidated houses for people who are children of resistance activists infected with chemical toxins.
Accordingly, there are a total of 125 houses, of which 65 are newly built, 60 are repaired, in 47 communes and wards. The implementation time is from September 7 to September 17, 2026.

The launching ceremony will be held simultaneously on September 7, 2026 at 9 locations in the city, specifically: Headquarters of the Party Committee of Ho Dac Kien commune; Hall of Vinh Loi Commune People's Committee; Hall of Thoi An Hoi Commune People's Committee; Hall of My Quoi Commune People's Committee; Hall of An Lac Thon Commune People's Committee; Military Command of Hiep Hung commune; in Huynh Pham hamlet, Gia Hoa commune; in 5A Ba Trinh hamlet, Dai Hai commune; Cultural, Sports and Community Learning Center of Phuong Binh commune.
To speed up the progress of work, Military Region 9 Command supports 300 officers and soldiers to directly coordinate with local forces to deploy the construction and repair of houses for subjects who are children of resistance activists infected with chemical toxins in Can Tho City.
The force is arranged according to each area, each project, based on the actual volume and progress, prioritizing difficult places and urgent projects.
Departments, agencies, branches of the city and localities, units closely coordinate with the City Military Command and Military Region 9 forces, urgently complete dossiers, hand over land, ensure materials, human resources and control project quality, striving to complete the entire project within 10 days, from September 7 to September 17, 2026.
Vice Chairman of Can Tho City People's Committee Tran Chi Hung requested to implement the spirit of the Prime Minister's direction. Support must ensure the right subjects, the right conditions, publicity, transparency, and not allow duplication, omission or policy abuse.
At the same time, ensuring safety and quality, prioritizing the use of durable materials, not using makeshift materials.
