The Party Committee of Can Tho City has just issued Resolution 15-NQ/TU on shifting the labor structure from agriculture to non-agriculture.
Accordingly, Can Tho City sets a target in the period 2026 - 2030, shifting labor in the agricultural, forestry and fishery economic sector to the industrial, construction and service economic sector by an average of 0.54%/year.
By the end of 2030, agricultural, forestry and fishery workers of the city will account for 36.15% of the total number of workers working in the city's economy, associated with the transformation of smart agricultural production methods and application of high technology.

The proportion of agricultural labor from 42.41% in 2021 (about 650,544 workers) decreased to 38.86% in 2025 (about 650,516 workers).
