Thai Nguyen Provincial Hydrometeorological Station has just issued warnings of heavy rain, thunderstorms, and hail in the area.
Accordingly, in the past 24 hours, Thai Nguyen province has had scattered showers and thunderstorms, common rainfall of 5 - 20mm, locally heavy rain, such as: Nghien Loan 61mm, Thuong Quan 54mm.
It is forecasted that in the next 24 to 48 hours, due to the influence of a low pressure trough connecting to a weakened low pressure area from storm No. 4, from the afternoon of August 27 to August 28, Thai Nguyen province will have scattered showers and thunderstorms, with locally heavy rain.
Common rainfall is 10 - 30mm, in some places over 80mm. In thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning and strong gusts of wind.
Localized heavy rain is likely to cause flash floods on small rivers and streams, landslides on slopes and flooding in low-lying areas.
