At about 9 pm on August 25, a heavy rain with thunderstorms poured down on the central area of Dien Bien province, causing many streets to be locally flooded and traffic to be difficult.

Heavy rain also caused a section of the wall surrounding the provincial stadium to collapse, and a nearby power pole was also broken.

According to records, heavy rain began to appear at about 9 pm and lasted continuously for about 1 hour. The amount of water pouring down quickly caused many roads in the central area.

On Truong Chinh and Vo Nguyen Giap streets, water rose high, at times flooding high on the road surface, causing many vehicles to stop.

Some people driving motorbikes and cars actively stand and wait, not daring to move into deep flooded areas for fear of vehicles stalling or being unsafe.

After about 1 hour of heavy rain, the weather began to calm down. Water on many streets also quickly receded, and traffic gradually returned to normal.

Notably, during the heavy rain, at about 9:02 pm, a section of the wall surrounding Dien Bien province stadium suddenly collapsed. The incident led to a broken power pole collapsing, causing people in the surrounding area to panic.

According to a resident living near the stadium, the collapsed wall stretches from the intersection area to near the auxiliary gate of the stadium. This person said that the wall area was built a long time ago, and some items were previously built to block water.

The collapse location stretches from the intersection to near the auxiliary gate of the stadium. The wall was built a long time ago, previously there were obstacles built to block water, but maybe today the water flooded too quickly, so the wall collapsed" - people said.

Fortunately, the incident has not yet recorded any casualties. However, the collapse of the wall and the collapse of the power pole are potentially dangerous for people and vehicles passing through the area.

Also in the heavy rain, not far from the provincial stadium, in the area near 7-5 Square, a large green tree tilted, crushing a car parked on the side of the road.
