On May 27, the Ca Mau Provincial Party Committee met to approve many important projects. Notably, the Ca Mau Provincial Party Committee is determined to carry out site clearance for the Ca Mau - Dat Mui expressway project.
Currently, Ca Mau province has basically identified the recovery, compensation, support, and resettlement to implement the expressway from Ca Mau city to Dat Mui through 17 communes of 7 districts: Thoi Binh, Tran Van Thoi, Cai Nuoc, Phu Tan, Nam Can, Ngoc Hien. The total site clearance area is about 562.17 hectares, the compensation value is about VND 2,028 billion, using State budget capital (including provincial budget and central budget support).

Ca Mau province is responsible for implementing the site clearance project independently from the expressway construction investment project implemented by the Ministry of National Defense.
The Prime Minister has directed the groundbreaking of the expressway from Ca Mau city to Dat Mui on August 19, 2025. The project was decided to be invested according to an emergency process to ensure the very urgent requirements for progress.
With the very important goals and meaning of the high -speed investment project from Ca Mau city to Mui Dat Mui, Ca Mau Province mobilized the political system to join in the leadership and direction of the Party Committee, the management and administration of the authorities, promoting the role of the head to focus on directing the completion of the site clearance on schedule, implementing the coordination and assistance according to the authority.
The planning of the Ca Mau - Dat Mui City Expressway (CT3) was approved by the Prime Minister to be added to the Vietnam Road Network Planning for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050, in Decision No. 12/QD-TTg, dated January 3, 2025. The project is over 90 km long, with a scale of 4 lanes, and an investment process before 2030.
