After more than 1 day of putting into operation nearly 178km of the North-South Expressway in the East phase 2021 - 2025 through Quang Ngai and Gia Lai provinces, traffic on the route is basically smooth, without congestion.

However, on the first day of the April 30th - May 1st holiday, many cases of vehicle technical problems were recorded on the route, mainly tire damage.
At about 9 am on the same day, on the Hoai Nhon - Quy Nhon expressway, forces of Road Management Office III. 2 (Road Management Area III) promptly supported a vehicle with a punctured tire, replacing the tire on the spot to continue the journey.

According to Road Management Zone III (Vietnam Road Administration), in the initial operation phase from April 29 to May 6, the unit arranged forces to be on duty 24/24h, continuously patrolling the route to coordinate in handling arising situations and ensuring traffic safety.
Road patrol teams are arranged to move regularly on the route, promptly guide and support vehicles encountering problems, not allowing it to affect traffic.

Road Management Zone III said that to ensure smooth and safe traffic on the route, especially during the April 30 - May 1 holiday, the unit has requested management and maintenance contractors to regularly prepare sufficient vehicles, equipment, road patrol vehicles, personnel and traffic safety systems to be ready to serve on the route.
Talking to Lao Dong Newspaper, a representative of Project Management Board 85 (investor of the Hoai Nhon - Quy Nhon and Quy Nhon - Chi Thanh expressway projects) said that currently 2 sections have been handed over to Road Management Zone III for management, operation and exploitation after opening to traffic.
After more than 1 day of operation, some cases of vehicles encountering tire damage during traffic have been recorded on the route.

According to a representative of Project Management Board 85, the reason may be that the new route has been put into operation, some drivers are not familiar with checking the tire condition and technical parts of vehicles before entering the expressway, leading to damage during travel.
Running on National Highway 1 at a speed of only about 50km/h, but when entering the expressway, the car moves at a speed of 80-90km/h, so it is easy to cause machinery damage, especially tire blowouts. This is a common incident when new expressways are put into operation," this representative said.

Nearly 178km of the North-South expressway through Quang Ngai and Gia Lai provinces officially opened to traffic at 11:30 am on April 29, including the Quang Ngai - Hoai Nhon expressway, 88km long, Hoai Nhon - Quy Nhon expressway, more than 70km long, and about 20km belonging to the Quy Nhon - Chi Thanh project.
These 3 expressway sections have a scale of 4 lanes, maximum speed 90km/h and minimum 60km/h. Initially, the route has not arranged emergency stop lanes, only technical stops along the route.
