On December 21, Lao Dong Newspaper published an article "Unsured food supply at the Preschool Nutrition Festival", reflecting the incident that occurred at the "Child Nutrition Festival" held on December 18 at Hoa Sen Kindergarten (Bao Ha commune, Lao Cai province).
According to the parents' reflection, during the process of receiving and processing food provided by Ms. Nguyen Thi Hao, the school and parents discovered sausages with signs of being broken, with black objects appearing inside.
The school immediately directed to stop processing, not allow children to use, invite suppliers to work and make records.

For shrimp food, when received, there was a phenomenon of softness and dizziness. After processing, parents discovered that the shrimp turned black and had many stings and reported it to the school's leaders.
The school has reclaimed all shrimp, stopped using them at school locations and coordinated with Bao Ha Commune Health Station to inspect and make records.
At Hong Son school, because no signs of abnormality were detected during the processing, students ate before receiving the notice to stop using.

On December 23, speaking with a reporter from Lao Dong Newspaper, Mr. Do Tien Dung (residing in Bao Ha commune) said that after many days of waiting, parents had received test results from the Center for Disease Control under the Department of Health.
The results showed that both sausages and shrimp have indexs of probiotics exceeding the permitted threshold, in which sausages have index E.coli exceeding the prescribed threshold, while shrimp has index of bridge accumulation exceeding the threshold.
According to Mr. Dung, if parents do not promptly detect and stop processing, the use of these foods can seriously affect the health of hundreds of preschool children.
Parents hope to soon have a final solution so that their children's eating and living activities at school are not interrupted.

On the morning of December 23, speaking with Lao Dong, Ms. Tran Thi Huong - Vice Principal of Hoa Sen Kindergarten - said that the school had just received the test results and had reported to the People's Committee of Bao Ha commune.
This afternoon, the school will hold a parent meeting to provide specific information about the incident. For the indicators exceeding the permitted threshold, the school has reported to the commune; if it is the responsibility of any department, we will advise the locality to consider and handle according to regulations," said Ms. Huong.

According to Ms. Huong, immediately after discovering the incident, the school terminated the contract with Ms. Nguyen Thi Hao's supplier. After this afternoon's parent meeting, the school will search and select a new food supplier to ensure the safety of children's meals.
Regarding the reflection on the similar incident that occurred in September 2024, Ms. Huong said that this content was associated with the time when the former principal retired; the choice of supplier at that time stemmed from parents' disagreements.
Informing reporters, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Cong - Vice Chairman of Bao Ha Commune People's Committee - informed that the commune had received a report on food testing results from Hoa Sen Kindergarten.
According to the Vice Chairman of Bao Ha Commune People's Committee, the units are consulting on handling administrative violations of collective kitchens and suppliers; at the same time, they will handle the responsibility of civil servants (if any).
