The problem of dirty food is still "hot" every holiday and Tet
During holidays and Tet, consumer demand increases sharply, making the amount of goods circulating on the market more complicated, especially in the groups of fresh food, candy, beer, dried goods, etc.
This is also the period when subjects take advantage of mixing poor quality goods, even fake food, expired goods are erased, extracted, packaged to make a profit.
Although inspection work has been strengthened by authorities, the risk of food insecurity is always present, causing great concern for consumers.
In Hanoi, the reality in recent times shows that every peak holiday and Tet holiday, the Market Management force, Police, Health and local authorities have discovered many violations related to unsafe food.
As recently, during the 2025 Mid-Autumn Festival, the Hanoi Market Management force discovered many cases of food and candy trading of unknown origin, not ensuring food safety.

Notably, Market Management Team No. 14 coordinated with Hanoi City Police to surprise the factory of Hida Food Joint Stock Company ( Den village, Hoai Duc commune).
At the scene, the police caught red-handed an employee pumping the bypass spirit into the meat to create grease, "transforming" buffalo meat into beef, and labeling it Hidasan.
This is just one of a few cases related to fake food and dirty food that have been handled in Hanoi recently.
In addition to the increasingly sophisticated tricks of subjects who violate the law, people's shopping habits are also contributing to the market facing more risks.
The popularity of "hand-carried" goods, cheap goods, and goods sold online without inspection makes consumers easily fall into the trap of fake and dirty food.
Along with that, some people are still subjective, only interested in designs and prices but lack safe product identification skills, creating opportunities for poor quality products to circulate more strongly at a time when demand increases dramatically.
Tightening management
According to the content of the document sent to the City People's Council in response to voters' recommendations regarding the handling of counterfeit and poor quality goods recently, the Hanoi People's Committee said that in the coming time, especially in the last months of the year, the city will continue to organize peak periods, focusing on areas with many potential risks such as food, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, essential consumer goods, e-commerce, etc.
Functional forces and management agencies need to continue to strengthen close coordination, share information early, remotely... handling from production, circulation to consumption. At the same time, cooperate with brand owners and industry associations to authenticate product origin, shorten appraisal time, and increase processing efficiency.
In addition, the authorities have increased communication, raising public awareness of the harmful effects of counterfeit goods so that people do not assist and actively report violations.

The City People's Committee requests all levels and sectors to continue to synchronously and drastically implement the above solutions, considering the work of preventing and combating counterfeit and poor quality goods as a regular political task, associated with the responsibility of the head.
However, besides the efforts of the authorities, consumer awareness and caution are still key factors.
Only when people prioritize buying goods with clear origins, trace information, choose reputable brands and report promptly when detecting suspicions can the food market be cleaned up, reducing the risk of dirty food "engraving" into the daily meals of each family.
