After a period of construction, the Red River overpass project connecting the old Thai Binh province (now the new Hung Yen province) and the old Nam Dinh province (now the new Ninh Binh province) with a total investment of nearly 1,000 billion VND is gradually reaching the finish line.
This bridge belongs to the Thai Binh coastal road (now the new Hung Yen province) with a total length of 1.4km with 27 spans, including 5 main spans and the main span in the middle of the river exceeding the aperture of 120m.
The coastal road project through Thai Binh province has a total length of over 43km, with a total investment of up to VND4,000 billion. This route plays an important role in connecting Thai Binh marine economic zone with neighboring key economic regions.
According to the reporter of Lao Dong Newspaper, in August, the construction atmosphere at the Red River overpass was urgent, the construction unit was paving the road. Items such as railings, lighting, etc. have been installed.

Mr. Nguyen Trong Vinh - Deputy Director of the Management Board of Construction Investment Project No. 2 of Hung Yen province said that up to now, the Red River overpass and the coastal road have completed more than 98% of the work. Despite many difficulties, with the close direction of the province and the determination and efforts to overcome difficulties of the investor and contractors, the Red River overpass project and the coastal road are accelerating the progress, expected to open to traffic the entire route in October.
Excited to hear that the Red River overpass is about to open to traffic, Mr. Tran Trong Minh (Hung Phu commune, Hung Yen province) said: "My house is near the Red River overpass, so since the bridge was built, in the afternoon, I often walk nearby to see the bridge. For a long time, people in coastal areas where we want to go to neighboring provinces have had to travel by ferry, which takes time. Since receiving information about the bridge being completed, we have been very happy, and having a bridge will make travel much more convenient".

According to the Management Board of the Hung Yen Province Construction Investment Project No. 2, the Red River overpass project connecting Hung Yen - Ninh Binh is of great significance. After completion and operation, traffic will be connected between the two provinces in particular, the regional traffic network, and the national traffic system.
In addition, along with the coastal road section through Hung Yen province, the Red River overpass will create a breakthrough in socio-economic development, promoting tourism development of the marine economic zone of the Red River Delta. At the same time, strengthening national defense, security, and responding to climate change; in particular, it is of decisive significance to the development of Thai Binh Economic Zone.
