HCMC - Heavy rain on the morning of October 27 caused an ancient royal poinciana tree in Nguyen Thi Dinh Primary School (District 12) to be uprooted, falling on a car and causing severe damage.

At more than 11:00 a.m. on October 27, District 12 authorities arrived at the scene to handle the case of an ancient royal poinciana tree at Nguyen Thi Dinh Primary School, Tan Thoi Nhat Ward, District 12 being uprooted after a prolonged heavy rain.

Earlier, at 9:30 a.m., residents near Nguyen Thi Dinh Primary School, Tan Thoi Nhat Ward, District 12 heard a loud noise. When they went to check, they discovered an ancient royal poinciana tree had been uprooted, crushing a 4-seater car with a Quang Binh license plate that was parked on the street.

At the scene, the top of the royal poinciana tree was lying horizontally behind the 4-seater car. The car was deformed, the windows were broken, and it was severely damaged. According to local residents, the base of the royal poinciana tree showed signs of having rotted for a long time.

District 12 authorities are sawing down the royal poinciana tree to move the car elsewhere.
