On the afternoon of February 21, the People's Committee of Tam Ky City, Quang Nam Province held a ceremony to announce the decision to recognize Vietnam Heritage Trees and activities in response to the National Biodiversity recovery Year - Quang Nam 2024.

At the ceremony, the Vietnam Heritage Tree Council announced the decision to recognize the honey-phiphiphic garden (Garcinia celebica L.) in Ky Anh Topography (Thach Tan Village, Tam Thang Commune, Tam Ky City) as a Vietnam Heritage Tree.
According to the People's Committee of Tam Ky City, the honey-phiphiphic plant in Thach Tan village is over 500 years old, located in the Ky Anh Geodetic Historical Site. The tree has a trunk circumference of 2.7 m, 26 m higher.
In the past, the base of this Hop Hop tree was a place for people to rest after the harvest time and participate in cultural activities. During the resistance war against French colonialism, the Hop Hop tree was a place to practice the "detaclone" movement.
During the resistance war against the US, the regroupes often climbed up to observe the enemy's advance to signal to let our army escape through the canals and then go underground to hide. Because the big big big big trees fell in the middle of the swamp and the low forest trees, they were hit by many bombs and artillery shells from the enemy.
However, the tree still stands firm as the steadfast heart of the people of Tam Ky.

Today, the yellow-throated plant and the Ky Anh topography are a place for many people to visit to better understand the glorious period of the nation...
Mr. Tran Trung Hau - Vice Chairman of Tam Ky City People's Committee - said that recognizing the honey-phiphiphic tree as a Vietnam Heritage Tree is not only the pride of Tam Ky people, but also a testament to the efforts in the process of nature protection, conservation of ecological values and cultural heritage in Quang Nam in general.
