According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoai An, Deputy Director of the Department of Tourism of Da Nang City, the Christmas - New Year Festival 2025 will take place for 20 days, from December 14, 2024 to January 2, 2025, with locations mainly at both ends of the Dragon Bridge. This is the first time the city has organized such a long-term event to attract tourists.
Meanwhile, churches and parishes in Da Nang are decorated splendidly. In particular, at Phu Ha parish church (Hoa Son commune, Hoa Vang district, Da Nang city), the Christmas tree made from thousands of conical hats attracts many people and tourists to check-in.
The conical hats are cleverly arranged into a sturdy pine tree shape and are decorated with light bulbs, tinsel, balls and other Christmas-themed motifs. When coming up with the idea of using conical hats to make a pine tree, the parish wanted to create something unique and new for Christmas this year.
The conical hats are attached together with a sturdy iron frame, ensuring durability and safety. The process requires meticulousness and elaboration, from choosing conical hats of uniform size to arranging them in a harmonious and balanced way. The nearly 20m high pine tree, placed right in the middle of the church, becomes a prominent highlight that attracts the attention of many people.
The project was conceived in October and started in November. According to the representative of Phu Ha parish, this conical pine tree will be kept until Lunar New Year 2025, to serve the sightseeing and admiring needs of the people and tourists.
