On the morning of December 21, the People's Committee of Da Nang City and the People's Committee of Thua Thien Hue Province held a ceremony to announce the completion of the project to preserve, restore, and promote the value of the national relic Hai Van Quan.
Hai Van Quan, also known as the most majestic pass in the world, is an important historical relic located on the Hai Van mountain range, between Thua Thien-Hue province and Da Nang city. Built in the 19th century, Hai Van Quan is not only a strategic defense point but also a symbol of the majesty and poetic beauty of Vietnamese nature. With its prime location, Hai Van Quan has witnessed many historical events and is a witness to the ups and downs of the country.
On July 14, 2017, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism recognized Hai Van Quan as a national historical and architectural relic. However, this relic is also heavily affected by extremely harsh climatic conditions of heavy rain and intense sunlight, leading to serious degradation.

This cooperation demonstrates the strategic vision and determination of both provinces in preserving and promoting the value of cultural heritage, contributing to promoting sustainable tourism development.
The project to preserve, restore, renovate and promote the value of Hai Van Quan national relic started on December 19, 2021 and has been completed after 3 years. The project has a total investment of more than 42 billion VND.
Currently, Thua Thien Hue province has also implemented activities to serve and attract tourists such as piloting a check-in platform and recording the presence of tourists at the Hai Van Quan national relic. These two localities have also promoted the application of smart technology, digital transformation, and increased investment in facilities and means to serve the work of promoting the value of the Hai Van Quan national relic.
