According to the penalty decision, Nui Hong Stone Exploitation Cooperative (located in Hong Loc commune, Loc Ha district, Ha Tinh province) with Mr. Nguyen Son Hai as Chairman of the Board of Directors and Director committed a violation: After 6 months or more since the date the mineral exploitation license expired, the company did not submit a request to close the Dong Han mountain stone quarry (Hong Loc commune) as prescribed.
Based on current regulations, the People's Committee of Ha Tinh province decided to fine 140 million VND to Nui Hong Stone Exploitation Cooperative.
Nui Hong Stone Exploitation Cooperative was granted mineral exploitation license No. 1271 by the People's Committee of Ha Tinh province on May 10, 2013 to exploit Dong Han mountain construction stone quarry with an area of 2 hectares, geological reserves of 397,900 m3, exploitable reserves of 300,617.53 m3, exploitation capacity of 35,000 m3/year with an exploitation period of 10 years.
The above mineral exploitation license has expired since May 10, 2023. On August 2, 2023, the Ha Tinh Department of Natural Resources and Environment requested the Nui Hong Stone Exploitation Cooperative to prepare a dossier requesting approval of the project to close the Dong Han mountain stone mine.
However, it was not until November 7, 2024 that this cooperative submitted a request for approval of the mine closure project, so it was late according to regulations.
