On the morning of September 9, water from West Lake was officially replenished to "revive" To Lich River.
This separate water pipeline consists of 2 HDPE pipes parallel to the D1200 diameter, ensuring that the replenishment of water from West Lake can be operated regularly according to the cycle and ensuring that the water from West Lake does not harm with wastewater in TE3 canal.

Speaking to Lao Dong Newspaper reporter, Mr. Truong Quoc Bao, Head of Yen Xa Wastewater Treatment Project Management Board (Hanoi Agricultural and Technical Infrastructure Construction Investment Project Management Board, abbreviated as Project Management Board) said that the item of adding water from West Lake to To Lich River is one of the items added by the city to the Yen Xa Wastewater Treatment Project by the Project Management Board as the investor.
For this item, the operation work is closely coordinated between the Project Management Board, the Hanoi Center for Technical Infrastructure Management (Department of Construction), Hanoi Drainage Company Limited and Tay Ho ward.

According to Mr. Bao, since August 15, the construction unit has completed collecting all 245 discharge gates on the To Lich River, ensuring that wastewater is brought to the Yen Xa Wastewater Treatment Plant for thorough treatment.
"Currently, the plant is being operated and treated with a capacity of about 200,000 - 230,000m3 per day and night, ensuring the treatment of all wastewater collected from the To Lich River according to the correct process" - Mr. Bao said.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Le (residing in Nghia Do ward) shared that for decades, passing through this river section has always had to cover her nose due to the stench, especially in the hot season. Now the water is clear green and cool, she feels like she is living in another space.
"This is the change we have been looking forward to for many years. People are very happy, because this not only improves the living environment but also beautifies the face of the capital" - Ms. Le said.
