According to Lao Dong Newspaper reporters on the afternoon of September 9, water from West Lake was officially added to the To Lich River through the pipeline.
At the head of To Lich River (Hoang Quoc Viet Street), the water has turned clear green, no longer smelly like before.
Workers of Hanoi Drainage One Member Co., Ltd. are collecting waste and pruning trees along the To Lich River embankment to ensure aesthetics.


Deputy Director of the Hanoi Agricultural and Technical Infrastructure Construction Investment Project Management Board Tran Van Tien said that at 11:00 on September 9. The Project Management Board has coordinated with relevant units to pump water from West Lake through 2 separate pipes to To Lich River.
The 1.5km long private pipeline leading water from West Lake to the To Lich River consists of 2 HDPE pipes parallel to the D1200 diameter.
The replenishment of water from West Lake can be operated regularly on a cycle and ensures that the water from West Lake does not converge with wastewater in the TE3 canal; wastewater is still brought to Yen Xa plant for treatment in case of lowering the water level of West Lake.





In addition to the water supply from West Lake to To Lich River, from September 20, the Hanoi Management Board of Investment and Construction of Technical and Agricultural Infrastructure will lead after-treatment water from Yen Xa Wastewater Treatment Plant to supplement the To Lich River combined with the water storage dam at Quang Bridge to help the To Lich River maintain at an elevation of +3.5m.
The Project Management Board also said that the construction unit has completed and returned 63 floodgates and has completed the collection of all 245 floodgates on the To Lich River since August 15, ensuring thorough collection of wastewater to the Yen Xa wastewater treatment plant for treatment.
Yen Xa wastewater treatment plant has increased the processing capacity according to the process and is processing at a capacity of about 200,000m3/day and night, ensuring the treatment of all wastewater along To Lich River.
Regarding the renovation project on both sides of the To Lich River, the agency said it has completed 19 locations of the sections from Cau Giay to Hoa Cuc Bridge (Lang Ha - Le Van Luong road) within the handover scope and has invited the parties to inspect and hand over on August 25.
