According to Lao Dong's records in early September, the pilot project to build and install a testing site for flooded planting to supplement water from the West Lake Wastewater Treatment Plant to West Lake, then supplement to the To Lich River has been basically completed.
The construction unit has installed a pipe from the Tay Lake Wastewater Treatment Plant into the Tay Lake through Sen Lake, this pipe has a valve to regulate the amount of water discharged into Sen Lake. Sen Lake has been installed with more than 40 aquatic rafts, these rafts are responsible for filtering water before pouring into West Lake.

At the end of December 2024, the People's Council of Tay Ho District (old) issued relevant resolutions and on February 27, the People's Committee of Tay Ho District (old) issued a decision approving the investment policy for the pilot project to build and test the installation of flooded planting facilities to supplement water from the Tay Lake Wastewater Treatment Plant to Tay Lake, then supplement to To Lich River.
The project investment scale includes the construction of Sen Lake with an area of about 5.93 hectares into a flooded planting area combined with a flooded park; the construction of a flooded planting area including a 4.45-hectare flooded planting area; the construction of a biological dike combining a management road and a management road combined with a park walking path.
The project also includes decorative lighting; construction of water intakes, water supply pipes from the water filtration site to the ditches to West Lake...
According to the representative of the West Lake Management Board, the items at Sen Lake have been basically completed. In recent days, the operator has pumped water into Sen Lake to prepare for addition to West Lake, water from West Lake will then be added to To Lich River.
The water source used to supplement water into West Lake is after-treatment water that meets the standards of the West Lake Wastewater Treatment Plant with a flow rate of about 13,000m3/day and night ( Design capacity of 15,000-22,800m3/day).
According to records, two pipelines with a diameter of 1.2m have been installed to bring the water of West Lake into To Lich River. The project to supply water from West Lake is expected to contribute to improving the environment of the To Lich River, which has been polluted for a long time.

Regarding water supply for To Lich River, Hanoi leaders requested that the taking of water from West Lake must be studied, ensuring sufficient capacity, carefully studying and analyzing water samples, and evaluating to avoid changing the hydrology of the water environment.
Along with that, coordinate with dams in the downstream area of Yen Xa Wastewater Treatment Plant, creating an additional source of water for To Lich River.
In addition to the above solution, Hanoi will also build a separate pipeline to collect water from the Red River to supplement both West Lake and To Lich River.
Hanoi leaders require that when adding water to West Lake, they must strictly control the conditions of the hydrological environment, not affecting the ecological environment of the lake.

Mr. Tran Van Tien, Deputy Director of the Hanoi Agricultural and Technical Infrastructure Construction Investment Project Management Board, informed that with the additional item of the wastewater collection system from both sides of the To Lich River to the Yen Xa Wastewater Treatment Plant, the unit has completed the connection at the remaining 62/63 discharge gates.
However, due to land clearance problems, a remaining spillway will be closed when the dam in the Quang bridge area is completed, and workers are constructing the final items of this dam.
