The 6.68km-long Ring Road V connecting Thai Nguyen province with Bac Giang province, with an investment of 699.3 billion VND, is invested by the Provincial Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board. This is a section of the more than 330km-long route passing through 8 localities with a total investment of nearly 86,000 billion VND.
Construction started in 2021. To implement this project, nearly 700 households were affected with a total land acquisition area of about 30 hectares.
On October 24, according to the reporter, after 3 years of implementation, the road section of the V beltway project has been basically completed. Construction and installation are underway at 2 locations of the canal overpass.
According to the investor's report, the site clearance for the main route has reached over 97%. The project is currently carrying out construction of the roadbed excavation, road foundation, asphalt concrete, and construction of 2 bridges on the route, reaching 99% of the volume.
Other items such as trees, sidewalks, and lighting systems are being installed synchronously. The investor and contractors are committed to completing the project before December 31, 2024.
Talking to reporters, Mr. Tran Xuan Hien - Construction Team Leader of Traffic Construction and Management Joint Stock Company 236 said that the project implementation process encountered some difficulties in site clearance, some sections of the road were weak in geology, and progress was interrupted due to heavy rain.
"Up to now, the problems have been resolved, the project has achieved over 70% of the workload and is in the final stage of concentrating human resources and means to complete the route in 2024," Mr. Thang informed.
When completed, the Ring Road V through Thai Nguyen will increase the connectivity of the Hanoi - Thai Nguyen Expressway with National Highway 37 and Bac Giang province. At the same time, connecting neighboring areas with the Hanoi - Thai Nguyen Expressway and National Highway 37 will promote the development of industry and services in the region.
