The Department of Natural Resources and Environment of Dong Nai province has just announced the results of surface water monitoring in Dong Nai province - phase 7 and phase 8 in 2024.
For the upper Dong Nai River (Daklua stream, Tan Phu district), the water quality of the 7th period tends to decrease compared to the 5th period and the same period in 2023.
Water quality at locations in the Tri An reservoir area (Vinh Cuu district, Dinh Quan district) in the 7th phase tended to decrease compared to the 5th phase and the same period in 2023. The water quality classification parameters all have values ranging from A to B. However, at locations in the small lake area, near O island, Phu Cuong commune, La Nga commune - Ben Ca hamlet, Dong Nai river mouth - Thanh Son commune, the organic and nutrient concentrations are high at level C.
In addition, the pH was also found to increase to level D at 3 locations in the middle of the small lake, Chien Khu D bridge, and Vinh An water plant. The location in the middle of the main lake has the best water quality with all water quality classification parameters at level A.
Surface water quality in the Ma Da - Be river basin detected E.Coli exceeding 16.5-24.5 times, iron exceeding 1.2-2.9 times.
Sa Mach River Basin (Vinh Cuu District), river water quality has not shown any signs of improvement compared to the same period in 2023.
La Nga River basin (rivers and streams in Tan Phu district, Dinh Quan district, Long Khanh city, Xuan Loc district), surface water quality in the 7th period tends to be similar and decrease compared to the 5th period and the same period in 2023.
Thao River basin (rivers and streams in Trang Bom and Vinh Cuu districts), surface water quality in the 7th period has not shown any signs of improvement compared to the 5th period and the same period in 2023.
The results of the 7th monitoring period showed that in the river and stream areas in the Southeast of Dong Nai province, organic and nutritional parameters at level C tended to decrease (at Ray River, Gia Ui Lake) compared to the 5th period and were equivalent to the same period in 2023.
Organic and nutrient pollution continues to exist in rivers and streams receiving domestic, livestock and industrial wastewater, with the highest organic pollution detected in Lanh Stream and Suoi Doi Lake.
Water quality in Thi Vai river basin (Long Thanh district, Nhon Trach district) in the 7th period tends to decrease compared to the 5th period but improves compared to the same period in 2023.
Water quality in the downstream area of Dong Nai River in phase 7 tends to improve compared to phase 5.
Previously, the Department of Natural Resources and Environment of Dong Nai province monitored surface water in the 7th period of 2024 (from June 3 to June 27) for 18 rivers, 55 streams, and 20 lakes in Dong Nai province and in the 8th period of 2024 (from July 23 to July 24) for Dong Nai river (section 3 and La Nga fish farming).
