On the afternoon of June 17, a fire occurred at a sports equipment warehouse located within the premises of Environment Industry Joint Stock Company 9 (Urenco 9), Phu Dien ward, causing great property damage.

According to initial information, at about 2:30 pm on the same day, employees working at the warehouse discovered smoke and fire rising from inside. Immediately after that, those present shouted, used on-site fire fighting equipment to put out the fire, and at the same time reported to the functional forces.

Upon receiving the news, the Fire and Rescue Police force quickly arrived at the scene, coordinated with Phu Dien Ward Police, local forces and people to deploy measures to control the fire.

An employee working in the area said that when she was outside the warehouse, she smelled a burning smell and discovered smoke and fire rising from inside, so she immediately shouted for everyone to evacuate. Because the warehouse contained many flammable items such as soccer balls, badminton rackets and other sports equipment, the fire quickly spread, causing difficulties for initial firefighting.

According to this person, the warehouse had just imported a large quantity of products and had not yet distributed them, so property damage was assessed as significant.

After about an hour of firefighting, functional forces basically controlled the fire, preventing the fire from spreading to neighboring areas. The fire did not cause any casualties.
Currently, functional agencies are continuing to examine the scene, investigate and clarify the cause of the fire.
