On the afternoon of February 28, a large fire occurred at a warehouse in Cu Chi commune, causing a column of black smoke to billow high in an area.
Initial information, at about 4 pm on the same day, people living in the area of road 93, Ben Do 1 hamlet, Cu Chi commune suddenly discovered a fire breaking out at a warehouse. Because the inside contained flammable materials, the fire quickly spread, forming a dense black column of smoke, tens of meters high.

As soon as the incident was discovered, people around tried to mobilize on-site fire fighting equipment to put out the fire but failed. The fire quickly went out of control due to the excessive heat radiating.
Mr. Hieu (resident of Cu Chi commune) said: "Black smoke covers the entire area. Police forces have arrived to blockade the scene and restrict people from approaching the fire area.


Upon receiving the news, the Fire and Rescue Police force mobilized many specialized vehicles and soldiers to urgently arrive at the scene. Local police forces also quickly blockaded the entrances and exits of the fire area to serve firefighting work.

Recorded at the scene until nearly 5 pm, the fire was still raging fiercely. Dense black smoke blocked visibility, causing vehicles passing through the surrounding area to turn around to find alternative routes. Firefighters are making efforts to spray water cannons to prevent the fire from spreading to surrounding households.
Talking to Lao Dong Newspaper, Chairman of Cu Chi Commune People's Committee said that the fire prevention and fighting force and commune police force are present at the scene to handle the fire, and there is no preliminary report of casualties yet.
The cause of the fire is being investigated and clarified by functional forces.
