Tourist boat catches fire in Ha Long Bay, 41 people safe

Quang Ninh - In the afternoon of February 27, the Signature QN-7269 tourist boat caught fire in the area near Hang Co on Ha Long Bay. All 41 people on board were brought ashore safely.

At the time of the incident, there were 30 tourists and 11 crew members on board.

Immediately after discovering the incident, the captain and crew members quickly took all tourists off the ship safely.

All passengers and crew members are safe and in stable health.

After receiving the report, the Chairman of Quang Ninh Provincial People's Committee directed Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Van Cong, Standing Deputy Head of the Provincial Civil Defense Command, to be directly present at the scene to direct the handling and overcoming of the incident.

Another working delegation led by Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thi Hanh, along with leaders of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and the Department of Foreign Affairs, promptly visited, encouraged and implemented measures to support tourists.

To date, the fire has been completely extinguished, and the vehicle has not sunk. Currently, the police force is protecting, examining the scene and organizing an investigation to clarify the cause of the incident.
