On December 27, Thu Duc City Police were still examining the scene and investigating the cause of the fire at the motel on Street 10, Tang Nhon Phu Ward, Thu Duc City.
According to initial information, at around 6am the same day, a fire broke out at a motel on Street 10, Tang Nhon Phu Ward. People nearby tried to put out the fire but failed. At this time, there were still many people inside the fire.
Upon receiving the news, the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Team of Thu Duc City Police mobilized 4 fire trucks, including 1 ladder truck, to the scene.
The fire resulted in 2 deaths and many people being hospitalized.
On the same morning, Mr. Hoang Tung - Chairman of Thu Duc City People's Committee was present at the scene of the fire to visit and encourage the victims' families.
Initially, authorities determined that the fire originated from the motorbike parking lot on the ground floor.
The boarding house has a structure of 5 floors, 1 ground floor and 4 upper floors. The total area is about 800m2, each floor is about 160m2. The boarding house is designed and divided into about 38 rooms for rent with about 78 people staying.
The two deceased victims were identified as N.T.G. (25 years old, residing in Thai Binh, restaurant staff) and T.T.T. (20 years old, residing in Thai Binh, worker). Both were found dead in a rented room on the 2nd floor.
Currently, the police are strictly blocking off the scene of the fire, only those with related duties are allowed inside.
