At about 1:25 am on September 17, people discovered a fire breaking out at a house in an alley on Pham Huu Chi street, so they shouted to put out the fire, rescue people and report to functional agencies. At the time of the fire, there were a total of 7 people inside the house.
Upon receiving the news, the Fire and Rescue Police (PC07) of Ho Chi Minh City Police coordinated with local functional forces to deploy fire fighting and rescue operations. At about 2:30 am on the same day, the fire was completely extinguished. Rescue forces took 5 people out and transferred them to the hospital for emergency treatment.

The fire killed 2 people. The burned house was designed with one ground floor, one mezzanine and two floors.
On the morning of September 17, functional forces of Cho Lon ward and professional units of Ho Chi Minh City Police continued to blockade and examine the scene to investigate and clarify the cause of the fire.


Regarding the fire that occurred in Cho Lon ward (HCMC) killing 2 people and injuring 5 others, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Trung - Chairman of Cho Lon Ward People's Committee - said that the locality is focusing on overcoming the consequences and implementing measures to support the victims.
According to Mr. Nguyen Xuan Trung, as soon as the fire broke out, local forces quickly coordinated with professional firefighters to control the fire. By about 2:30 am on September 17, the fire was completely extinguished. The injured victims were immediately taken to the hospital for emergency treatment.
Confirming information that there were 2 deaths and 5 injuries in this incident, Chairman of Cho Lon Ward People's Committee said that local authorities are urgently deploying work to visit and support victims as well as affected families to soon stabilize the situation.
