A fire that occurred in a deep alley on Lang street on the morning of June 2 was controlled and extinguished by people and functional forces in about 20 minutes.
At about 8 am this morning, at house number 11, alley 6, lane 814 Lang street, Lang ward, Hanoi, a fire occurred in the 1st floor area of a house. Discovering the incident, people and functional forces quickly coordinated to deploy firefighting measures.

Ms. Phuong Anh (a resident living in alley 6) said that while at home, she detected a burning smell and smoke coming from the opposite house. Immediately, she shouted for people around and together with relatives used handheld fire extinguishers, broke down doors to approach the scene and put out the fire.
At the same time, people reported the news to the functional forces. Immediately after receiving the information, the Fire and Rescue Police force of Hanoi City Police and Lang Ward Police quickly arrived, coordinated with grassroots fire fighting forces and people to organize firefighting.

Only after a short time of implementing professional measures, the fire was completely extinguished. People present in the house were supported to escape safely.
According to the reporter of Lao Dong Newspaper, the house where the fire occurred was both used for living and rented out. The fire was identified as originating from the 1st floor area. People on the upper floors escaped by rope rescue ladders equipped in the house.
An official of Lang Ward Police said that in the past time, people in the area have been propagated and trained in fire prevention and fighting and rescue skills. Many households have been equipped with portable fire extinguishers, escape ladders and necessary means. Thanks to that, when incidents occur, people have proactively participated in initial firefighting and supported trapped people to escape safely.
The fire occurred in the morning, when many people were already going to work, so the number of people present in the house was not large. Evacuation work was carried out promptly, and the incident did not cause any casualties.
Currently, functional agencies are investigating and clarifying the cause of the fire.
