On the morning of June 2nd, candidates in Ho Chi Minh City continued the 10th grade entrance exam for the 2026-2027 school year with Mathematics, the third exam subject of the exam. Many candidates said they had gradually stabilized their psychology after the first exam day, but were still cautious about the exam being assessed as highly differentiated.
At the exam site of Binh An Secondary School (Binh Dong ward), many candidates were present early, taking advantage of reviewing lessons before the exam. The atmosphere at the exam site was generally stable.
Candidate Pham Thi Minh Huong said that she entered the Math subject with a rather nervous mentality, worried that the exam would be more difficult than in previous years.
According to Minh Huong, the practical problem part is the content that worries her the most: "This is the part I am least confident in, I am afraid I will not do well".
Speaking about the previous exams, Minh Huong said that she did well on Literature and English, but is still not really sure about the results.
Candidate Hoang Dong Nhi said that she tried to maintain a comfortable mentality after the first day of the exam.
After two subjects, Literature and English, I feel my psychology has stabilized, but I am still quite worried because the Math exam every year always has a high degree of differentiation," this candidate shared.
At the Colette Secondary School exam site (Xuan Hoa ward), despite reviewing throughout the school year, candidate Nguyen Phung Hai Yen still took the opportunity to review the formulas and familiar test types before entering the exam room, especially the practical application problem.
I mainly review basic types of exercises and number problems to stabilize my psychology when entering the exam room," Hai Yen said.
According to this candidate, the part that worries her the most is the application and statistical problems, which can change the way questions are designed compared to the usual practice form. However, Hai Yen still maintains a stable attitude and expects to achieve good results.
Sharing the same psychology, candidate Nguyen Phuc Hoang Son said that although he had reviewed in advance, he still took the opportunity to review his knowledge to limit errors when doing the test.
I mainly review exam types to get into the exam room to reduce pressure," Hoang Son said, and also said that Math is the subject he is most confident in, but still noted that some practical application questions may be more difficult than the reference exam.
The 10th grade entrance exam in Ho Chi Minh City in the 2026-2027 school year takes place in 2 days, June 1 and 2, with more than 151,000 candidates taking the exam. Public high schools in the city recruit about 118,500 students into 10th grade, equivalent to about 78% of candidates taking the exam have a chance of passing.
Candidates take exams in three subjects: Literature, Mathematics and English. Those who register for specialized or integrated classes will take additional specialized or integrated subjects accordingly.
This year, the exam is organized at 242 exam sites, including 226 regular exam sites and 16 specialized exam sites, with a total of 6,443 exam rooms. The city's education sector mobilized more than 17,700 teachers, staff and officials to participate in exam supervision and service.
