Forest fire in Deo Ngang area

    Quang Tri - The authorities controlled the fire in the protective forest at Deo Ngang, causing damage to about 3,000m2.

    On August 11, Roon Border Guard Station (Quang Tri province) said that at around 2:00 p.m. the same day, a forest fire broke out at block 1, sub-area 151 in the protective forest in Vinh Son village, Phu Trach commune, Deo Ngang area.

    Receiving notices and support requests from the Secretary and Chairman of Phu Trach Commune, the unit mobilized 15 officers and soldiers commanded by the Station Leader, in coordination with the Police, commune militia, forest rangers, protective forest protection forces and local authorities, a total of about 50 people, to quickly approach the scene.

    After nearly 2 hours of firefighting efforts, by 4pm, the fire was controlled and completely extinguished. The fire damaged about 3,000m2 of forest.

    The cause of the fire is being clarified by the authorities.
