According to information from the authorities, at around 11:20 on July 5, 2025, in the Da Den sea area (in Mong Cai 1 ward, Quang Ninh province), a fire broke out on a Hong Phuc gasoline boat, number QN-8582.
This ship belongs to the retail store of Hong Phuc Trading Joint Stock Company, located in Mong Cai 1 ward, Quang Ninh province.
At the time of the incident, there were 4 crew members working on the boat. The fire broke out in the boat dock area, near the gas pump. The crew promptly participated in extinguishing the fire on the spot, however, 3 people suffered minor burns and were taken to shore for first aid immediately.
Immediately after receiving the information, Tra Co Border Guard Station (Border Guard of Quang Ninh province) quickly deployed rescue forces with 2 motor boats, 10 officers and soldiers, carrying fire fighting equipment such as gas cylinders, boxes, basins... in coordination with the Waterway Police Team under Quang Ninh Provincial Police to urgently organize fire extinguishing, rescue and relief.
The Border Guard and Police also propagated and regulated surrounding watercraft and fishermen to leave the fire area, ensuring fire safety and security at sea.
At about 12:05 p.m. the same day, the fire was completely extinguished. Fortunately, there were no significant property losses.
According to initial verification results, the cause of the fire was that after pumping gas, the crew and workers on the boat cleaned up and turned on the fans to regulate the air. Because there was still some gas in the cargo hold, when the fan was in operation, there was an electrical short circuit, causing a fire at the air vents on the deck.
Currently, the case is being further investigated and clarified by the authorities.
