Hanoi - In the early morning of the 29th of Tet, a house fire on Hoang Van Thai street trapped 3 people. Functional forces promptly rescued, preventing the fire from spreading.

In the early morning of February 16 (ie, the 29th of Tet), functional forces promptly controlled the fire that occurred at 70 Hoang Van Thai street (Phuong Liet ward), saving 3 people trapped in the house safely.

Information from the Fire and Rescue Police Department (PCCC&CNCH) – Hanoi City Police said that at about 3:30 am on the same day, a fire broke out on the 1st floor of house number 70 Hoang Van Thai. At the time of the fire, there were 3 people trapped in the house.

Immediately after receiving the news, the Command Information Center of Hanoi City Police mobilized forces and vehicles of Fire and Rescue Team No. 13 to the scene. The working group including 2 fire trucks, 1 fire motorbike and 13 officers and soldiers quickly deployed professional measures.

Functional forces determined that the fire broke out in the 1st floor area, smoke and toxic gas spread quickly, posing a risk of fire spreading to the upper floors. In emergency conditions, task forces were deployed simultaneously: both organizing firefighting and approaching to search and rescue people trapped inside.

The fire commander directed officers and soldiers to use breathing tubes and specialized equipment to access deep into the fire area, bringing 3 victims out safely. In parallel, firefighters sprayed water to extinguish the fire, cordon off, and prevent fire from spreading.

After more than 30 minutes, the fire was completely extinguished. The incident did not cause the fire to spread to neighboring houses and upper floors. The victims were rescued with stable health.

According to initial information, the burned house has a scale of 5 floors and 1 attic, with an area of about 67m2 per floor; the burned area is about 2m2 on the 1st floor. The cause of the fire is being further investigated and clarified by functional agencies.

From the above incident, functional agencies recommend that people raise fire prevention awareness, especially during the period before, during and after the Lunar New Year, which is the time when the demand for electricity, fire sources, and heat sources increases, dry weather poses many risks of fire and explosion. People need to proactively check the electrical system, strictly manage fire sources, arrange escape routes and equip on-site fire fighting equipment to promptly handle incidents.
