Ho Chi Minh City - A transformer station in An Phu Dong ward suddenly caught fire. A black smoke column rising tens of meters high caused many people to panic.

Initial information, at about 8:30 am on May 18, people living on Thanh Loc 16 street, An Phu Dong ward suddenly heard a loud continuous explosion coming from the 110kV substation, An Phu Dong ward. When they went out to check, they saw flames rising up accompanied by a burning smell.

People around joined the on-site fire fighting force to put out the fire, however, the flames flared up high, causing initial firefighting to fail.

Upon receiving the news, the Fire and Rescue Team of Area 12 (PC07) was present at the scene and deployed fire fighting operations. After about 20 minutes of firefighting, the fire was completely extinguished. The fire did not cause any casualties but caused many assets inside to be burned down.

Recorded at the scene, when the fire occurred, there were 2 security guards on duty inside the transformer substation. Seeing black smoke, both ran out to shout and joined the people to put out the fire.

Currently, the cause of the fire is being investigated and clarified by functional forces.
