Spending more than 157 billion VND to build an additional bridge across the Ky Cung River connecting 2 border super wards

Lang Son - Cua Nam bridge, about 286 m long, is expected to shorten travel time between the two central wards across the Ky Cung River.

Lang Son Provincial People's Committee has just approved the investment policy for the Cua Nam bridge construction project, a project located in Luong Van Tri and Dong Kinh wards.

The project is managed by the Lang Son Provincial Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board.

According to the decision, Cua Nam bridge is invested to meet the increasing travel needs of people in the urban center of Lang Son.

The project will increase the traffic connection between the two banks of the Ky Cung River, especially the densely populated residential area in Dong Kinh ward with the central square area of the province in Luong Van Tri ward.

The project has a total length of about 286 m. Of which, the bridge section is about 128 m long, and the access roads on both sides of the bridge are about 158 m long.

The length and specific rationale will be accurately determined in the stage of preparing the feasibility study report and designing the construction drawing.

Cua Nam bridge is designed to be 17 m wide, of which the bridge deck is 16 m wide, including 4 lanes, two sidewalks and railings on both sides. The bridgehead road is invested according to the scale of urban roads, secondary main streets, and the roadbed is 17 m wide.

The total investment of the project is more than 157 billion VND, from public investment capital of the local budget. This is a group C project, implementation time from 2026 to 2028. The project preparation phase is implemented in 2026, the project implementation phase lasts from 2026 to 2028.

When completed, the bridge is expected to shorten travel time between the two central wards, create an additional connecting axis across the Ky Cung River and reduce pressure on some existing inner-city traffic routes.

In addition to its traffic function, the project is also identified as contributing to improving the urban appearance of the central area of Lang Son, increasing the spatial connection between residential areas, central squares and adjacent public infrastructure.

According to PV's investigation, currently, in the urban area of Lang Son, there are 4 bridges spanning the Ky Cung River, including: Ky Cung Bridge, Dong Kinh Bridge, Thac Ma Bridge and 17/10 Bridge.
